We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Care Chemicals team in Geismar, LA.

As a Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will deliver mechanical maintenance engineering expertise for a designated area of the site. Your role involves collaborating with Production and Maintenance teams on design reviews, repairs, and maintenance tasks, including predictive and preventative maintenance activities. You will also provide technical support for Root Cause Failure Analyses, troubleshoot issues, and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Additionally, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement by utilizing LEAN Manufacturing tools. This position allows you to leverage your knowledge and experience in technical guidance, relief device maintenance, vibration analysis, and equipment lubrication programs. Experience preferred in SAP, API and ASME codes. 

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you create chemistry by...

 

  • Providing troubleshooting support and recommendations to operating units on equipment reliability, including emergency work reviews using your expertise in equipment and mechanical systems. 
  • Offering technical guidance to the Maintenance Supervisor, specialists, and craftsmen on complex repair issues.
  • Establishing, monitoring, and optimizing Preventative and Predictive Maintenance plans, while assisting in the training and development of in-house maintenance personnel. 
  • Actively participating in Root Cause Failure Analyses and implementing corrective actions for complex or recurring problems.
  • Leveraging general knowledge of mechanical equipment design and maintenance practices related to process equipment, such as centrifugal pumps, piping systems, pressure vessels (including heat exchangers), atmospheric storage tanks, positive displacement pumps, relief devices, and various compressors.
  • Providing engineering support for capital projects, ensuring compliance with plant design specifications, BASF standards, and regulatory requirements.

If you...

 

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial technology and/or related field and experience in maintenance and/or reliability
  • Preferably a minimum of 12 years relevant experience
  • Have experience in design review, repair and maintenance; predictive/preventative maintenance activities
  • Hold optimization of equipment maintenance activities and strategies background
