We are looking for an E/I Technician to join our Catalysts team in Attapulgus.

BASF’s Catalysts division is the global market leader in catalyst technologies. The division develops and produces mobile emissions catalysts as well as process catalysts and offers precious metals trading, recycling and related products and services.

 

You will provide E&I support to BASF Attapulgus Operations with a Safety First mindset.  This role includes but is not limited installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment and instrumentation in an industrial plant; including power distribution, motor controls, PLC’s, wiring, process controls, flow meters, level transmitters, conductivity and PH meters. Must be able to work with minimum supervision.

During your X-hour shift as a E/I Technician, you will

  • Read blueprints, P&ID's, single-lines, ladder logic, and wiring schematics.
  • Repair and troubleshoot analog and discrete instrument loops.
  • Effectively use typical test and calibration equipment, including pneumatic calibrators, RTD calibrators, mA calibrators, T/C calibrators, digital and analog multi-meters, meggers, and laptops for equipment communication.
  • Follow step-by-step calibration procedures.
  • Use computerized systems to enter and retrieve data.
  • Troubleshoot PLC problems through knowledge of PLC logic and operations.
  • Work with and troubleshoot the following: pressure, temperature, level and flow measuring equipment; neumatic controls; chart recorders; water analytical equipment, including pH/ORP, conductivity; solenoids; limit & Proximity Switches.

If you...

  • Have high school diploma/GED/Trade/Technical Degree or Apprenticeship in Instrumentation (I&E) Electromechanical, Electrical or Mechanical
  • Possess 3 years of Electromechanical and/or Instrumentation & Electrical experience.
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs., carrying up to 25 lbs.
  • Can sit, stand (in place), walk, and use arm/leg control; as well as bend, kneel, squat, and crawl.
  • Are able to climb vertical, fixed ladders with ladder cages (up to 178 ft. structure).
  • Are able to climb portable step and extension ladders.
  • Are able to twist, turn, and reach above shoulder level; as well as wrist turning and finger manipulation.
  • Possess military service in a related field a plus.
  • Are etail-oriented and willing to document details appropriately is a plus.
  • Hold fabrication, wiring, and hook-up experience of Instrumentation and Electrical equipment is a plus.
